Canton is a city in the state of Ohio, USA. Ohio is also where the Stark Country is. The municipality is situated in the northeastern portion of Ohio and is located on the Nimishillen Creek, about 38 kilometers south of Akron and 96 kilometers south of Cleveland. Canton was founded during the year 1805 on the middle and west branches of the Nimishillen Creek. The city became the manufacturing center, possessing its position with several railroad lines.

Canton is home to the First Ladies National Historic Site, the William McKinley Presidential Library and Museum, the McKinley National Memorial and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It is also home of the BTIC or Baton Twirling International Championships. It is the largest main city of the Canton-Massillon Metropolitan Numerical Area. Canton is connected to the Interstate Highway System. Numerous highway exits from the Interstate 77 connect travelers to the Canton from West Virginia, Charleston, North Carolina, Charlotte, South Carolina, Columbia and points north and Ohio, Akron, Cleveland and points in the south. The two limited-access highways serve Canton.

There are many highways exiting from the United States Route 30 and connecting the travelers to Canton from the Indiana, Fort Wayne and points west and from the Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh, New Jersey, Atlantic City and points east. Numerous highways exits from the United States Route 62 connect the travelers to Canton from the Ohio, Columbus and points southwest and from Ohio, Youngstown and points northeast.
