Planning An Easter Break Away

With half term now taking precedent in many parents' lives, soon enough the Easter breaks will creep in and before you know it you are left with your children for two more weeks during the entire Easter half term. This calls for an immediate action over finding some much needed activities and/or holiday for you and your family. Taking a break in the local English countryside makes for a cheaper trip and a change from a conventional holiday abroad.

During the Easter breaks many people will want to be travelling to popular destinations, making booking a general nightmare for last minute holidays. Taking trips to local English countryside areas is just one way of saving money, but also appreciating some time away during the Easter holidays. Such locations that inhabit a quiet and cosy vacation are Hertfordshire, Cumbria, Cornwall, Bath, Cheshire, The Lake District, East Sussex, Kent or Devon.

The Easter breaks are a time where most parents would want to give their children as well as themselves a break away that is not too far away and not too different from their normal life. Even though the idea of travelling abroad is a popular venture for many families, often those who travel within the UK discover hidden surprise and adventures in areas they did not think would reveal such splendour. One area in particular that encapsulates the above is Bath. This is one of the most well-known resorts in the UK, attracting many celebrities to migrate into the city and adopting it as their new second home.

The main attractions of Bath lie in its claim to fame for housing some of the most reputable literary writers of the nineteenth century, such Jane Austen and Charles Dickens. The Jane Austen Centre offers visitors an insight into the world of the famous writer, how the city of Bath had inspired her written works, as well as enjoying the view that overlooks the city by the Tea Rooms. However, bath is not just a place for historical writers; it is also the first city to be discovered by the Romans, where the first Roman baths were created due to the naturally flowing hot springs. Visitors will be drawn to the original Roman Baths, which still has natural hot springs flowing. Children are kept entertained with the audio guides allowing them to 'Meet the Romans'.

Perhaps the heart of Bath falls on the Royal Crescent, which historically depicts the classy style of the eighteenth century and was also a popular place of residence to many wealthy royal members of the family. Known as one of the world's best known landmarks, Number 1 Royal Crescent is open to the public that includes a guided tour.

If historical Easter breaks are not what you and your family are looking for, then the Lake District is one place to visit for adventure, recreational activities and much more in terms of sightseeing. Aside from the picturesque views and conserved gardens, the adventure playgrounds give children the chance to let off some steam whilst parents are able to take part in other ventures. Amongst the more relaxing activities to take part in, is fishing, taking a stroll down the blooming gardens, view aerial photographs of the Lake District, or take part in local festivals and events.

Amongst the quieter activities also come the active adventures that include canoeing, hiking, sailing and mountain biking. This is only touching the surface of what could be enjoyed in this National Park.

The main point about planning your Easter break is finding something for every member of the family to take part in and take in interest in. This will initially need to be researched and planned in advance, which means some time will need to be spent reading up on other peoples experiences and reviews.

Easter is a good time to take a short break within the countryside, because the weather will have improved from the winter period and also gives families enough time to spend a little time together. Travelling to specific places in the UK allows you the opportunity to experience something new, without having to spend a lot of money.

Anna Stenning knows the best places to visit during the Easter breaks, seeing that some of the best places are closer than most people think.
