All About Buying Houses In Italy
Depending on where one wants to settle in Italy, most will opt for the countryside of Italy, namely Tuscany. However others prefer a much more vibrant and populated area that is close to amenities such as Rome. The cost of buying houses in Italy varies greatly, from the less populated and rural areas to the more busier and centralised areas. Places such as Rome are much more expensive and tend not to have such a peaceful relaxing environment due to the city structure. However there are more opportunities to make a solid investment as it is more popular for tourists.
The same can be said about countryside areas where certain seasons of the year allow for an abundance of visitors and tourists, giving the homeowner a chance to make some money whilst they are away from the property. For people looking to buy apartments or houses in Italy, and are not a native of the country then it would be a wise step to conduct some thorough research. Rules and regulations of purchasing a new home is different from the UK and therefore one will need to be prepared financially and legally.
The kinds of question you should be asking are what is the legal procedure for a non-native to purchase a house in Italy? What are the legal requirements? Are there any fees you need to pay for? How much of a deposit will you need to put down before making an offer? Will you need to draw up a contract with the vendor? Can you communicate with an English-speaking property agency? Do you need a signed document for the right to buy the property on that specific land? Will you need to proof of identity?
These are just a few of the questions one needs to consider, with other factors such as the area you will be living in. If you are looking to invest, is the area closely located to the main attractions and how often to people visit the place? What are the locals like and the general area? Is it safe for families and young people? Before going to look for houses, one must always visit the desired area of choice and consider the living quality of the area. Take your time on this and be absolutely sure of your decision before committing to any serious decisions.
